Salary: £36,716 to £52,348 plus £2,323 London weighting

Job share is considered. The appointment will be full-time and is available
from
1 January 2011.

The Department of Quantitative Social Science (http://www.ioe.ac.uk/qss)
conducts world-leading multidisciplinary research. All activities hold at
their core the identification of critical evidence to address the nation's
economic, social and educational well-being.

We are looking for someone to contribute to our research profile, to our
quantitative methods teaching and to our other training activities.

You should hold a higher degree, preferably a doctorate in social statistics
or
a cognate area with a distinct specialism in advanced quantitative methods.
A
completed doctorate will be required for appointment at Senior Lecturer
level.
You will also be expected to raise research income, engage in student
supervision and advise postgraduate research students. You will have
communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for teaching, supervision
and collaborative work.

The e-NASS is essentially generalist to revive renaissance wo/men with global and historical perspectives covering from the mist-shrouded steppes of Asia to the sun-drenched African, American and European shores without neglecting the exotic Oceania. In order to protect its subscribers vis-à-vis the virus-spreading, hoax and spam e-mails, the e-NASS is strictly moderated while e-mails containing attachments are automatically removed.
