European Peace Research Association (EuPRA) conference, with the overall
theme "Europe and the World", will take place in Tampere, 20-22 July 2011.
The Finnish host organization is the Finnish Peace Research Association, in
cooperation with the Tampere Peace Research Institute, TAPRI, University of
Tampere.
On Wednesday, July 20 there will be the opening session, the first plenum
and the get-together-party. The following two days will start with plenum
sessions at 9 am, and the rest of the days are devoted to parallel work
sessions. The three plenary sessions shall be opened by the statements of
invited keynote speakers. In working groups all participants shall have the
opportunity to present their papers and have them discussed.
The venue of the conference is the Tampere Congress Hall.
Regarding accommodation, rooms have been reserved in three hotels, very
close to the Tampere Hall, with the code EUPRA (or EUPRA congress or EUPRA
2011) at special conference prices: Holiday Inn Tampere, Hotel Victoria and
Scandic Tampere City, as well as in Dream Hostel. All participants have to
make their hotel reservations themselves directly to the hotels. The group
reservation prices and reservations expire in late spring or early summer
2011 – the dates differ in the four places – so it is advisable to book the
hotel rooms well in advance. (The prices of the single rooms in the hotels
are 85/89/89 and in the double rooms 97/99/98 euro respectively, and in the
Dream Hostel 65 euro for the double rooms and 99 euro for the four bed
rooms, per night).
The full programme and time schedule of the conference, the names of the
invited keynote speakers (once all have confirmed their attendance), the
themes of the working groups, information about participation fees, for
travel connections and other practical arrangements will be given on this
web-page later on.
Unfortunately, most obviously no travel grants will be available for
conference participants.
