Pups are recovering 

Two Mediterranean monk pups which dragged in their caves and lost their mother in hurricane in 15 December, are gaining weight rapidly in Foça rehabilitation center. Cute pups are planning to released into their natural habitat in March.  Two pups which one of them found in Mersin and other in Antalya from locals then delivered to Coast Guard and Gendarme were taken under treatment by Mediterranean Monk Seal Rehabilitation Center within the cooperation of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Foça Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Underwater Research Society - Mediterranean Seal Research Group.

The only expert vet for seal in Turkey, Gök defined that as the pups are too young their immune system is too weak and they provide an hygienic environment by disinfecting a special room for 5 times in rehabilitation center.

Pups will back into wild in March
Gök stated they are expecting pups which is fed with special methods will change their eating habits into live bait and in the mid of March pups will be released back into their natural habitat. Gök informed that: They will be fed with live bait this week. After this stage, they will not face with human and they will be adapted to natural habitat.
It is indicated that this is the second pup rehabilitation in Turkey after Badem which found wounded in Didim shore, rehabilitated and then released back into its natural habitat in Gökova.
