Red tide expands, but weakens

Red tide has expanded in Southwest Florida, but it is getting weaker.
The latest satellite image from the University of South Florida shows red tide is still present but is weak. [Click here to view a larger version of the image]
The toxic bloom now stretches 75 miles along the shoreline- from Sanibel Island in Lee County down to Monroe County.
The red tide bloom is about 30 miles off shore.
