"Edna," a rescued bottlenose dolphin is recovering from pneumonia at Mote's Dolphin and Whale Hospital.
On June 6, she was found ill and beached on Longboat Key, where she was rescued by Mote's research team.
Edna is still considered in critical condition, but Mote's animal care staff is pleased with her progress, according to her latest health update.
Mote's Dolphin and Whale Hospital is committed to the conservation of these protected species.
Since 1992, the hospital has treated 70 sick and injured dolphins and small whales, and more than 400 sea turtles.
