Crime Lab Didn't Perform Gunshot Residue Test in Death of Handcuffed
Mississippi Man
Honorable defence lawyers might not accept it, but this is one of those
examples where GSR analysis will yield only a very limited evidential
value, as correctly stated by the Arkansas State Crime Lab's chief
criminalist, Lisa Channell.
A useful tool in such instances would have been the Ferroprint (or the
Ferrotrace <https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/publications/Abstract.aspx?id=172643>,
by Mistral Detection) test for iron traces on victim's hands.
Unfortunately, only a very few law enforcement organizations are using it.
Maybe this it the time for a change...
