Summer Courses 2011 Application Information

Please read the information below carefully before applying to the course of your interest.

Online application for Summer Courses 2011 will be available in January 2011.
Summer Courses Application Guidelines

Applicants must send all documents as outlined on the application form. Those who do not possess all the necessary documents by the deadline are advised to submit an incomplete application with a letter listing the missing documents and when they will be submitted.
Decisions will only be finalized after all required documents have been received.

All correspondence will be sent to the "Permanent Mailing Address" as it appears on the application form. Candidates must notify the office of any change of address or personal information.
Application papers and supporting documents will not be returned or transferred to any other institutions.
The University reserves the right to cancel courses that do not meet the required minimum enrollment.

Application Fee
All applicants pay a non-refundable application fee of US $80 (or equivalent sum in local currency). The application fee may be paid online, in cash, traveler's check, certified bank check, bank transfer or money order payable to The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Personal checks are not accepted. The transfer should include the student's name and requested program. A copy of this transaction must be brought to financial registration at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Applicants from the United States and Canada should consult their local office regarding payment procedures.

Summer Courses Application Form

Summer Courses Supplementary Application Materials
Medical Form completed and signed by the physician. Download the form at the bottom of this page.
Passport-Size Photograph: Please send 2 photographs with the applicant's name and ID / passport number written on the back of each one.

Transcript: An official copy of the applicant's most recent university transcript or an authorized photocopy of his/her degree.
Letter of Recommendation: A letter evaluating the applicant's character and academic ability. Students currently enrolled in an institution of higher education should submit a letter from one of their instructors.

Housing Reservation: Rooms are only assigned to accepted students who submit the Housing Request Form accompanied by a $75 dormitory deposit in cash, traveler's check, bank check or money order payable to The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The submission deadlines are listed on the form. Download the form at the bottom of this page.

Summer Courses Application Deadline: May 15, 2011

Formal Acceptance
The only evidence of acceptance to a Rothberg International School Division of Studies program is an official letter issued by one of these offices:

Office of Academic Affairs of the Hebrew University, New York
Students who have been issued a conditional acceptance letter will only be permitted to complete financial registration and enroll in study programs after they have received a letter confirming that they have satisfied the conditions, as follows:
Completion of current studies

Fulfillment of language requirement(s) (Hebrew, English, Literary Arabic, Biblical Hebrew).

Presentation of official documents
Acceptance letters are valid only for the year issued. Deferred admission is not possible, and candidates must reapply each year.

The e-NASS, outnumbering 5300 subscribers, aims to deepen interaction for further inter/intra/trans/multi-disciplinary communication within the academic community of scholars, professionals and students from all branches of social sciences. The language of communication at e-NASS is English; however, contributions in other languages are highly welcomed should they include an abstract in English. This e-network enthusiastically encourages its members to disseminate and share announcements of Call for Papers, Fellowships/Scholarships, Conferences, Graduate Programs, Websites, Publications, Summer Schools, Jobs, Internships and etc. If you have any scholarly announcement concerning social sciences, please do not hesitate to share it within this e-community. The e-NASS is essentially generalist to revive renaissance wo/men with global and historical perspectives covering from the mist-shrouded steppes of Asia to the sun-drenched African, American and European shores without neglecting the exotic Oceania. In order to protect its subscribers vis-à-vis the virus-spreading, hoax and spam e-mails, the e-NASS is strictly moderated while e-mails containing attachments are automatically removed. This e-network discourages commercial advertisements as well as it is essentially irrelevant to any form of activism or advocacy of any particular perspective. Thus, messages of discussions, demonstrations and calls to action are not permitted. When forwarding e-NASS announcements to your friends and other e-groups, signifying e-NASS as the source will be highly appreciated as extent of your courtesy.
