SARASOTA(FL) - A rehabbed sea turtle was released into the ocean on Tuesday. Fargo the turtle made its way into the Gulf of Mexico from Lido Beach.

Fargo was caught by anglers at Venice Fishing Pier in June and was found to have other hooks in his body, including a shark hook.

The turtle was named after the company Wells Fargo for their recent donation of $10,000 to Mote Marine's Sea Turtle Rehab Hospital. "We talked about how it would be fabulous if we had a Wells Fargo going off to sea or out through the gulf that we could track and follow through the years," says Debra Faulk of Wells Fargo.

"We are really excited, both to get this sea turtle out, and to have this excellent support while we do this. And we're just hoping that Fargo goes far," says Mote spokesperson Hayley Rutger.

Mote Marine has treated 283 sea turtles since 1995.
